ENTERPRISE LICENSING

Fixed-Term License

Predictable term licensing with ActiveOps included.

The Fixed-Term License is designed for organizations that want to use TR7 over a specific project, hardware refresh cycle, or budget period. It offers a lower starting cost than a perpetual license, and ActiveOps is included throughout the entire term.

Throughout the term, platform updates, security feeds, IP intelligence, full configuration rights, and support coverage stay active. At term end, you can renew, change the license model, or wind down the deployment in a controlled way.

Pick the term. Lock in the capacity. Move forward with ActiveOps included.

The Fixed-Term License is a clean model for project-based deployments, annual budgets, cloud migrations, and organizations that want predictable OpEx.

What Is the Fixed-Term License?

The Fixed-Term license grants full usage rights to TR7 software for a defined period. Term options: 1–5 years for hardware, 3 months to 5 years for virtual. The term is set at contract start; full functional use is guaranteed for its duration.

The Active Operations Licence (ActiveOps) is included automatically throughout the entire contract term. No separate purchase is needed for platform updates, security feeds, IP intelligence streams, or full configuration rights — unlike the Perpetual model, there is no annual ActiveOps renewal here.

This model is practical for organizations with lengthy CapEx approval cycles, seasonal workloads, fixed-duration projects, or teams that need to spread budget across years. At contract end, there is a 30-day grace period; traffic does not stop and no data is lost.

INCLUDED FOR THE TERM

ActiveOps Automatically Included for the Entire Contract Term

With a Fixed-Term license, the Active Operations Licence (ActiveOps) is included automatically for the entire contract term. No separate purchase, no annual renewal, no extra billing — for as long as the license is active, you have full ActiveOps rights.

Platform Updates

Major + minor versions, bug fixes, performance improvements — for the entire contract term.

Security Rule Sets

WAAP signature updates, OWASP new-category coverage, CVE virtual patching — continuously up to date.

IP Intelligence Feeds

IP reputation, bot IP database, and geo-information refreshed 4× per day — aligned with the attacker landscape.

Full Configuration Rights

New vService creation, network configuration changes, the advanced WAAP rule editor — no restrictions.

Customer Portal

Access to my.tr7.com — license management, tickets, update downloads, invoice history.

30-Day Grace Period

At contract end, traffic continues to flow for 30 days — giving you time to renew or transition.

Core Advantages of the Fixed-Term License

Low upfront cost, ActiveOps included for the term, and predictable budgeting

Lower Upfront Cost, Predictable OpEx

Pay less upfront than perpetual licensing and convert capital expenditure into operating expenditure. Fixed annual costs over terms of 3 months to 5 years simplify budgeting and free up capital for other priorities.

ActiveOps Always Included

Active Operations (ActiveOps) is included throughout the entire contract term — no separate renewal, no added cost. Stay current with platform updates, security rules, and IP intelligence feeds (4× daily) for the duration of your license.

Align With Project and Cloud Timelines

Align licensing with project lifecycles, hardware refresh schedules, or cloud roadmaps. Choose terms from 3 months to 5 years to fit anything from short PoCs to multi-year enterprise deployments.

Predictable Budgeting and Scaling

Fixed costs for the entire term simplify budgeting — no surprise mid-contract renewals or price changes. Adjust bandwidth tiers and add features mid-term as your requirements evolve.

How Fixed-Term Licensing Works

Simple contract-based pricing with Active Operations included

Term-Based License + ActiveOps

Purchase a fixed-term license that matches your deployment — hardware appliance capacity or virtual bandwidth requirements. Active Operations (ActiveOps) is included for the entire term, covering platform updates, security rule updates, IP intelligence feeds, and full configuration capabilities. At the end of the term, renew or let it expire.

 • Term lengths from 3 months to 5 years
 • Active Operations (ActiveOps) included throughout the term
 • Capacity tiers from 50 Mbps to 100 Gbps with mid-term upgrades
 • Predictable fixed costs with volume discounts on multi-year commitments
 • 30-day grace period at term end before any restrictions are applied

A Contract Term That Fits Your Needs

Term options vary by deployment type. Hardware appliances support full-year terms aligned with the hardware lifecycle; virtual appliances also offer short pilot windows for PoC and evaluation.

Longer-term commitments offer better per-year pricing and volume discounts. The short-term virtual options (3 and 6 months) are ideal for PoC, pilots, and evaluation windows. All terms include Active Operations (ActiveOps) for the entire contract period.

What Happens When the License Expires?

Unlike competitors, TR7 protects your investment and never leaves your business stranded

30-Day Grace Period

After a fixed-term license expires, a 30-day grace period begins. During this time, your existing services keep running and your traffic keeps flowing. Only new configuration changes are restricted.

Traffic Continues — No Restart Penalty

Unlike many competitor solutions, TR7 does not apply an immediate cutoff and traffic does not stop on restart. During the grace period, your applications and users continue to receive uninterrupted service, and the appliance can be safely restarted.

Configurations and Certificates Are Preserved

Your SSL certificates, configurations, logs, and all settings are preserved. Some competitors delete SSL certificates entirely when a license expires — with TR7, you pick up where you left off after renewal.

Flexible Renewal and Transition

Renew for the same term, pick a different term, upgrade capacity, or move to a Perpetual license. Your existing investment is valued and carried over to the new license.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fixed-term license and what does it include?
A fixed-term license grants software rights for a defined period (3 months to 5 years) with Active Operations (ActiveOps) included. It covers full TR7 platform access, platform updates, security rule updates, IP intelligence feeds, full configuration capabilities, unlimited virtual services, and technical support. After the term ends, a 30-day grace period begins and existing services keep running. You can renew for another term or let it expire — all for a predictable annual cost.
Is Active Operations (ActiveOps) included in fixed-term licensing?
Yes — Active Operations (ActiveOps) is included in fixed-term licensing for the entire contract term. That covers platform updates, security rule updates, IP intelligence feeds (4 times a day), and full configuration capabilities.
What happens when my fixed-term license expires?
When the term ends, a 30-day grace period begins. During this time, your existing services keep running — only new configuration changes are restricted. We'll notify you before the expiration date to discuss renewal options.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my license during the term?
Yes — fixed-term licenses offer the flexibility to adjust your bandwidth tier or add features mid-term. For hardware, you can also upgrade to higher-capacity appliances — we calculate the prorated value of your remaining term and apply it to the new license. Contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements and the options available.
How does fixed-term licensing compare to perpetual?
Fixed-Term offers lower upfront cost with ActiveOps included, and is ideal for 1–5 year projects. Perpetual offers lifetime ownership and lower long-term TCO (5+ years) but requires a higher upfront cost and a separate ActiveOps license. Pick based on your deployment timeline.
