Flexible Clustering Options

Three separately licensed modes — priced for adoption, not exclusion

Active-Active Cluster

Maximum Capacity Utilization

Both appliances actively serve traffic with full load distribution. Different vServices can be active on different nodes simultaneously, utilizing the combined capacity of all cluster members.

  • All nodes actively process traffic
  • Different vServices active on each node
  • Combined capacity from all nodes
  • Sub-second automatic failover
  • Session synchronization across nodes
  • Zero downtime maintenance

Active-Passive Cluster

Cost-Effective High Availability

User-defined scenarios determine which appliance serves all vServices while the other remains on standby. TR7 offers special pricing advantages for this deployment mode.

  • One node active, one on standby
  • All vServices on active node
  • Scenario-based failover control
  • Special pricing discount
  • Instant automatic failover
  • Configuration synchronization

Standalone

Simple & Affordable

Single appliance deployment perfect for development, testing, or non-critical workloads. Unlike competitors who charge nearly the same price for cluster licenses, TR7's standalone pricing is significantly lower.

  • Single appliance deployment
  • Most affordable licensing option
  • Full feature access
  • Easy upgrade path to clusters
  • Perfect for dev/test environments
  • Huge savings vs. competitor cluster pricing

Clustering Cost Advantage

TR7 clustering is significantly more affordable than competitors who often charge nearly double the cost (primary appliance + cluster license). TR7 offers much lower cluster pricing across all deployment modes - especially Active-Passive, which provides cost-effective high availability with minimal additional licensing costs.

Flexible Throughput Capacity

Comprehensive bandwidth options from 50 Mbps to 800 Gbps

Transparent Throughput Measurement

TR7 measures total bidirectional throughput—the combined sum of received (RX) and transmitted (TX) traffic. This industry-standard approach ensures transparent capacity planning and predictable licensing costs.

Per-vService Bandwidth Control

Define bandwidth limits for individual applications with automatic QoS enforcement. When limits are reached, traffic is distributed fairly among all users, maintaining consistent application performance.

Benefit

Prioritize critical applications and prevent any single service from monopolizing resources

Fair Capacity Sharing

Licensed bandwidth is automatically shared fairly among all vServices and users. Even during peak times, every application receives guaranteed minimum resources, ensuring no service negatively impacts others.

Benefit

Consistent performance guarantee for all your applications, uninterrupted service even during peak traffic

Smooth Capacity Scaling

Upgrade Anytime

Increase bandwidth capacity on-demand with pro-rated pricing. No hardware changes or service interruption required.

Mix Capacity Tiers

License Renewal & Flexibility

Comprehensive renewal flexibility and investment protection

TR7 offers the most flexible and customer-friendly license renewal options in the industry. Unlike competitors, TR7 protects your investment without artificial limitations or forced upgrades.

True Perpetual Ownership

When you purchase a TR7 Perpetual license, you own it forever. There are no hidden CPU limits, no forced hardware lock-ins, and no artificial software version ceilings. Your license works as long as you need it.

Unlike the comprehensive ADC vendor that locks perpetual licenses to specific hardware and caps the maximum software version you can upgrade to—forcing customers to repurchase licenses—TR7 perpetual means perpetual.

Renew Even Fixed-Term Licenses

Fixed-Term licenses can be renewed seamlessly under the same terms, upgraded to higher capacity, or converted to perpetual. You are never locked into a model that no longer fits your needs.

A major global ADC manufacturer offers only fixed-term licenses for virtual appliances with no renewal option—you must repurchase the entire license each term. TR7 lets you simply renew and continue.

Flexible License Migration

Upgrade from PAYG to Fixed-Term, from Fixed-Term to Perpetual, or scale your capacity — your existing investment is credited. No penalty fees, no lost value.

Most competitors treat each license as a separate purchase with no migration path. TR7's flexible architecture protects your investment at every step.

No Artificial Limitations

TR7 never artificially restricts your hardware capabilities. Whether perpetual or fixed-term, you get full access to your appliance's CPU and RAM capacity. No throttling, no artificial cap.

The comprehensive ADC vendor is known for setting CPU core limits on virtual perpetual licenses and capping upgrade paths—even with active maintenance contracts. TR7 believes you should use what you paid for.

What Happens When Licenses Expire?

Perpetual License

The base license never expires—you own it forever.
Full functionality continues indefinitely. Renew ActiveOps annually to maintain updates and advanced configuration.
Traffic continues flowing, existing services work, but no new configurations or updates until ActiveOps is renewed.

Fixed-Term

30-day read-only mode begins after term expiration. During this period, existing services continue but no configuration changes are allowed.
If not renewed within 30 days, traffic flow stops. All configurations and data are preserved.
Renew anytime—continue from where you left off with no data loss. Renew at the same terms, upgrade capacity, or convert to perpetual.

Pay-As-You-Go

No commitment, no expiration. Stop anytime, restart anytime.
Pay only for active hours each month. Your pre-selected bandwidth and bundle remain fixed—you control when to use it.
