Customers start without making a commitment. You activate the service instantly.

The PAYG Service License is designed for service providers that want a low barrier to entry, a fast sales cycle, and a flexible service portfolio.

What Is the PAYG Service License?

The PAYG service license lets an MSP serve its customers without any long-term commitment. The customer sets capacity parameters (bandwidth, bundle) upfront; billing is done at month-end based on the active hours of use.

Customers can start, stop, or change capacity at any time. Usage is metered hourly and billed in a single monthly invoice. No contract penalty, no term lock-in.

This model is ideal for growing MSPs: new customer pilots, seasonal workloads, short-term campaigns, dynamic customer infrastructures. The Active Operations Licence (ActiveOps) is included throughout the active usage hours.

A Platform License is required — PAYG service licenses do not stand alone; they are added on top of the Service Provider Platform License for each customer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Pay-As-You-Go Service License?
The Pay-As-You-Go Service License delivers a use-first, pay-at-month-end model. Each customer selects bandwidth, bundle, and vService limits upfront, then pays at month-end based on the hours used that month. Each customer service requires its own PAYG license built on the Platform License foundation. Maximum flexibility with no upfront commitment.
Do I need a Platform License to sell PAYG services?
Yes — the Platform License is the required foundation. It provides the multi-tenant infrastructure (free for virtual, bare-metal for hardware). On top of that, you purchase a PAYG license for each customer service you sell on a monthly basis.
How is PAYG pricing calculated?
Each customer selects their capacity upfront (bandwidth, bundle, vService limit). At month-end, we calculate total active hours and bill accordingly. Pricing is per service (not per-tenant) with no commitment — use first, pay at month-end for the hours used.
Can I mix Pay-As-You-Go and Fixed-Term customers on the same platform?
Absolutely. Your Platform License supports both service types simultaneously. You can sell Pay-As-You-Go to customers who want flexibility and Fixed-Term to customers who want commitment — all on the same infrastructure.
Can a customer migrate from PAYG to Fixed-Term?
Yes. When a PAYG customer is ready to commit, you can convert their service to a Fixed-Term license for lower ongoing costs. The Platform License remains unchanged — you only change the customer service license type.
Why is PAYG more expensive than Fixed-Term?
PAYG offers maximum no-commitment flexibility — customers (and you) can start or stop services month to month. That flexibility comes at a premium compared to committed Fixed-Term pricing. You pay for flexibility and convenience.
How does the white-label API work for customer services?
Our comprehensive API covers everything for your customer services: tenant provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, billing data extraction, and support ticketing integration. Embed TR7 entirely transparently into your existing customer portals. Your customers interact with your interface and your brand — TR7 infrastructure stays in the background.
What margin can I expect on PAYG services?
You set your own pricing based on customer value and market positioning. We never see what you charge your customers. PAYG has higher costs than Fixed-Term, but many service providers charge a premium for no-commitment flexibility. Customers value instant activation and month-to-month agility — price for your market and maintain healthy margins.
